MUMBAI: The Mumbai Crime Branch seems to have stumbled on very sensitive information concerning several Bollywood & Tv actors, models, casting co-ordinators and others from the film industry in a drugs case.
According to an India Today exclusive report, the names of several actors and politicians have emerged during Mumbai Police’s probe into underworld gangster Dawood Ibrahim-linked drug syndicate. The same was mentioned in the remand application of Salim Dola which was submitted to the court.
The Mumbai Police’s Anti Narcotics Cell had earlier busted a major drug syndicate run by wanted drug trafficker Salim Dola who is said to be an associate of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.
The remand application copy accessed by India Today TV (which was presented in court) reads, “Further investigation into the said accused No. 05 has revealed that he is organising drug parties in the country and abroad and supplying drugs to those parties.”
“The said accused has previously organised drug parties in the country and abroad with Alisha Parkar, Nora Fatehi, Shraddha Kapoor and her brother Siddharth Kapoor, Zishan Siddiqui, Ori alias Orhan, Abbas Mastaan, Loka and many other people and has himself joined in them and is supplying drugs to these and other people.”
Investigators say Dola operated the syndicate from Dubai, supplying mephedrone—also known as M-Cat, Meow Meow and Ice—to seven to eight states and smuggling large quantities overseas.
The drug syndicate is also under investigation by the ED and Mumbai Crime branch for money laundering and operating hawala channels.
Now Mumbai Crime branch will summon the actors, rappers and filmmakers for their statements and could also take further action against them, the India Today report has said.
